He awoke the next morning to a knock on his door, but out of laziness just rolled over to try and go back to sleep. He heard the door creak open, but didn’t hear footsteps enter his room. And so without any thoughts really going through his mind he fell back into a light sleep. Though not for long. Moments later a girl walked into his room, she tiptoed up to his bed, her purple hair lightly flowed behind her. She smirked before dumping the cup of cold water onto Alec’s head.
He shot up with a grunt as he tried to wipe off the water, not realizing what it was. After a moment he looked up to see a grinning Rose. His face went blank for a moment, and she suddenly was worried, she expected anger, not… nothing.
But Alec was just examining her. Her light purple hair with the faintest amount of pink, her round oval face with big pale blue eyes. Her pale skin, lips a rosy pink matching her cheeks as they blushed slightly under his gaze. She wore a short black pin skirt, dark blue leggings, a simple navy blue tank top and black flats. He stared for a few more moments before laying back on his slightly damp bed and looking at the ceiling, a thing he had basically memorized by now.
“You look so human.” He raised his hand in the air and looked at his thoughtfully. “You look like any human would.” He clenched his fist before slamming it down against the bed. He shot up and stood, crossing the foot distance to Rose until they were only an inch apart. He grabbed her wrist and raised it, looking at it intently. “How are humans s’posed to tell you apart from us?” He said it so softly, the opposite of how he clutched her wrist, she could feel her fingers tingling.
“You’re not.” She was always so quiet he thought, even yelling her voice had a meekness to it.
“So you can kill us easier?” He was blunt.
She shook her head, she slid her pale hand out from his grasp and put her hand against his, looking at the difference in length of their fingers. “We asked God for this, so we could be with humans.” She said it thoughtfully, as if trying to remember a childhood story. “We never wanted to drink blood, that was our price for our adoration of humans.” She took her hand from his, and they both stood with arms at their side. “Blame us for our needs, or you and your kind for our desire, but God set the price.” She looked at his face and could only think how perfect it would be to be human. “Now get dressed, it’s time to make breakfast.” She said as she left, closing the door silently behind her.
“God huh?” He sighed. “That’s who every one blames for problems I guess, even vampires.” He started to get ready.
Rose turned to see Aqua leaning against the wall next to Alec’s door. “He doesn’t believe it huh?” She said, she looked lazily to Rose, like it was too early to be awake. Rose just answered with a dejected look. “All of us are in existence because of God, he’ll learn soon enough.” Aqua shrugged and started down the hall. The hem of her knee length blue nightgown damp.
